What is the payout of this week arena? It seems gold payout has been reduced massively:
1) 180 gold, 20 special tokens, 140 power cells
2) 100 gold, 10 tokens, 140 power cells
3) 50 gold, 5 tokens, 140 power cells
4) 25 gold, 140 power cells
5) 140 power cells
6) 140 power cells

Played one, won one, but not sure if I want to grind this, I’m not going to get 1st everytime, so when I do I want it to be worth it, and coming 2nd should reward much better than breaking even... Ah well, the hangar is decent enough, more balanced than last week that's for sure. Shame we couldn’t have this hangar with last week’s gold rewards. |

I'm so glad I farmed arena last week, I went from 200+ to 2300 gold. This week is definitely more risky. I don't want to get stressed so I'll skip it.

I don't need power cells, even though I usually am 1or 2 the gold isn't for 「dookie」, and 10 whole spin tokens LOL. So if I risk 1000 gold to play ten times,I get ONE lousy spin to, at best, win another piece of 「dookie」 calamity.

The missing 245 Au buys 35 Tokens and 840 Power Cells. Worth noting that at the end if the event, any amount of tokens less than 100 will still open a single box. |

But I'd speculate too that because it's a more recent meta with faster bots, they expect more of the player base to compete in it, so they're trying to minimize the loss of imaginary, pixelated gold. After all, pixelated gold is the rarest and most precious part of the periodic table. |

I find it surprising that no one is talking about the 1st Arena from 2 weeks ago. Yes the bots were basic and slow, but IT WAS FREE TO PLAY!. I was bummed to not realize that sooner. Did play it on the last day and played no other mode. Made thousands of Au that day and that has helped to rush some OE weapon upgrades during the event. Didn't play Arena last week and am skipping this week's too. Hard to risk 100 Au and have crappy payouts.

The list price of 300 token is equal to list price of 1200 Au, that makes a token worth 4 Au. So adjusting for this... (180+80) + (100+40) + (50+20) + 25 = 495 Au. Last week it was 500 Au, wasn't it? So not much difference in that way, especially consider how the tokens will be rounded up at the end of the event (most likely). Of course still a bit crappy way of bleeding the player base of Au just before pilots arrive (assuming we don't get yet another currency, pilot tissue, and have to collect 10000 units of tissue to grow a single pilot, but can just use Au or Ag to get them). |

Just played some arena, and a couple of things strike me (though they won't be surprising to many of you):
1. The caliber of the players for these Saturday Arena matches seemed higher than for the Wed Skirmish training I did. It was almost like a whole new kind of game.
2. Players' leagues seems to have no impact on their placement in the Arena. Champion, Masters, Expert, Diamond, even Bronze league players are all scattered between 1st and 6th place. That tells me that either (a) league advancement is more about gear than skill, or (b) the outcome of the Arena has a significant random luck component. I think both are true (although with the pre-Arena training, I managed to do consistently well in the Arena this time around).

At the same time, it's FFA and I could care less who 'wins'. Who did the most damage should win. |
