Feels like the clan owner/admin has abandoned the game and therefor the clan. Can I take ownership over the clan somehow?

Only if the Captain (owner of the clan) passes it off to you ricky or someone else

Had that issue a couple of years ago. Nothing we could do. We even contacted Pixo but they could (would) not help. Several of us split off and formed a new clan.

Just left a clan where the Captain was AWOL for a LONG time. I understand your problem. Really nothing you can do except leave and form your own clan or (hopefully) find another one that is actually active.

This is happening to me as well, thankfully the majority of our clan is still active so myself and the other officers can run it. It is really funny though, because the clan leader's entire policy was "You don't play. You don't stay"

Would it be worth making a list of leaderless clans? I was in one and seemed to be the only admin that invited players. We also had a bunch of players that hadn't played for a long time but no one could boot them. I left and have started my own clan now.

Pixo fixed this for my clan, leader had been inactive for a year. Sent request through ingame support. Good luck.
I was surprised (and a little sad) they booted former leader out of clan. I would have kept him as dead weight.

If you feel that the clan is stagnating then move on.
The clan leader does have the power to add or delete people, not sure about admins since I am a clan leader, sorry.
Otherwise there are lots of fine clans out there to join.

Even the officers have the power to add/ remove people. I too was part of 2 dead clans. But then found my current clan and am lovin it.
You can make your own clan or search for another one, there are a lot of clans out there and you will definitely find some clan that you’ like.
