Keys (blue POV):
1. Fast bots on first drop 2. Defending CB 3. Sustained side-flanking to bog down red territory advance 4. Attempts to cap red home beacons, to further back them up

Fury with Tridents is a great way to suppress reds from the CB, however, when too many Furies, Bullwarks (etc.) drop, I don't last long...I either mech out, or just leave when I realize that I'm toast. Btw, I hit a copyright block with YouTube for the Ramones song, so I'll fix that.

Mfw you walk up to their home beacon with 2 bullets in your Tempest clip Yeah, I know, that was dip?dookie? level = infinity. Even more goofy is I still somehow capped their home beacon. I usually flank w/Hover on drop 2, but my idea was to follow my teammates push red home, then deploy Hover as drop #3 from center, if we didnâ??t cap their side home beacon. Those plans changed when i (somehow) made the cap. Yeah, very poor management of the Tempest clip, but fortunately it wasnâ??t of any consequence. Duh.

If I'm in a long/midrange bot and it's time to swap, I'll be pushing center in a suicide run because I hate ejecting from bots. I'm sure there's been a few games where I was shooting happyfunball at 200m with Tridents at center beacon on Dead City.

I love capturing the reds home beacon on Yama. I trend to made that my mission.
There's something satisfying out of flanking, walking or flying behind the spawn point, genuinely being an annoyance and drawing a couple of reds out of the fight.

Capping home on Yam feels great. Can’t say I rememberer lumbering back there in Bullwark before (iOS Champion League has its share of oblivious pilots).....but sure did feel great to see that blue light. Every time that happens the Benny Hill theme song plays in my head.

4-squad: BR*1 vs 4-squad: SOL, 21 Mar 19
Tactics:
1. Lost CB initially, but dug in around the area and pushed to win it back 2. Used Hover's ability to push the line on the covered bridge 3. Blues followed the red's converging on defending their home beacon, allowing blues to advance 4. Reds over relied on support-type builds, allowing blues to control the prize jewel of the map (CB)

My advice on yam: Just dont. Thing with Yam is, in my opinion, it requires the most teamwork, sacrifice, and risk taking. I love Yam, but sometimes hate it. But love it more than I hate it. I hate playing it with 5 other support bots (who doesn’t), but with Brazilians along side...buckle up reds, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride....

The game was my 10,000th victory playing the pay-to-win virtual circus.
Tactics:
1. 6-man death squad vs. timid randoms...hmmm, none needed
2. Rush to CB was met with little (any?) resistance, so a push was made to advance the line
3. Capped home beacon, spawned there, raised hell, nice win for #10,000, go BR*1

6 Apr 19 Ever had one of those BR Yam matches in which the following two things happen: - Nobody except you makes a serious effort to capture CB on drop one? - Nobody except you makes a serious effort to capture CB for the rest of the game? If nothing else, this should underscore the value of being in a clan, and squad-play with reliable blue pilots, random pilots can be tactic-challenged. The last good Yam I played, I managed to sprint into CB with my Gareth, danced with the red capper in the beacon while I pounded him to death with plasma, and then backup arrived with a flamethrower (I think) just in time to rout the other reds who were trying to get on the platform. It's rare that I actually get a sigh of relief while I'm playing but that one felt good.

Squad with Brasil Pro savages. Capped their home beacon, which is always a real hoot on this map. Dude... nice work with that Bully!
3:33 with that INSANE Invader jump... HAHA that was an excellent moment to have recorded!
Also, playing a Ranged build like you did, as a Backpacker rather than a Camper, is exactly what I try to do. Positioning to maximize support for those that are pushing... and even pushing on your own... Nice!

I don't have a vid for you, but here's my Yam play:
1st drop: Gareth. If nobody or only a camper is moving toward side, I'll grab that and then go center, otherwise go center. If blue gets center and I'm still alive, I come back out of the killbox and hide on the reverse slope of our ramp, providing my Orkan/pinatas against anything that comes up the middle or down the sides.
If we don't have center, I go and take it back unless it's too heavily defended. If they've got 3 or more on center, they are weak on one of their home beacons and I'll flank and take that. If they somehow have a solid defense on center _and_ have good defense on both home beacons, I'll put in the taser hover to grind them down until something is weak, then I grab that.
Gareth, Haechi, Gareth, Ancile Strider, Hover. I don't have any real brawlers, but I have speed, so I can reinforce anywhere that needs reinforcing, or I can exploit any gaps that appear. It's not perfect, and I get smashed if I'm a little too slow or get beacon-bombed, but it's what I like.

13 Apr 19 - with TD (Thunder) clan (boss) and partner Blaketasim - Tactics:
1. I always try to hit the dash glides off the first ledge, while it didn't fail completely, it wasn't good, need to practice 2. 1:27, went to work with my main CB defender and flanker (Hover) and kept the red line back 3. In Hover, adjusted my line position according to the reds' builds and pushes, usually I get the better of these exchanges even with multiple reds directing fire at me, due to Hover's mobility 4. Applied a similar tactic with Ao Jun (suppressing the red line). Red didn't really ever seem that interested in pushing. I detest blues that take this tactic. 5. Finally entered in Quiz, but red's beacon bar was done at this point, allowing me to be over-aggressive and mech (it was done by that point).

13 Apr 19, 2-squad vs randoms, 2nd match on this map that day, tactics:
1. Got CB, had to back track to go after a red contesting B, good for him (her?), stuff like this makes the game fun 2. Reds made a nice push for C, winning it back, but lost it a minute or so later. 3. Once you have C, you're in the clear, as we were. This map is obviously all about C.

15 Apr 19, randoms vs randoms, tactics: 1. Charging to C might be the cookie cutter script, but once in a while I like to push into B. Even if B doesn't get secured, if the reds care about winning it should rock their boat enough to dilute red's C capping/defense efforts, as was the case here. 2. Once B was secured, I simply tried to defend it. An old clanmate DAIHARD dropped in to B to support its defense, and this helped me flank reds around C with Ao Jun. 3. Hover rules the covered bridge. While a prickly path to pilot, no other bot can do this, or anything close. 4. PCs. Only the most delusional koolaid guzzlers believe this pimpfest a true skill game. It isn't. This is a slime-ball pay to win pimpfest. The result probably would have been different without the heavy use of PCs, which is one of the reasons I've cut back my playing to 2 days a week, but try to raise hell when I do play. Whoever has more PCs wins, pretty much. Some skill is involved....but not much. With the new super-modules, the gap between P2W and F2P will widen considerably. Pix is addicted to addicted P2W players. 17 Apr 19, Randoms vs Randoms, tactics:
1. Saw B (end of covered bridge) being capped, and a blue Stider interested in contesting so chose it over CB. 2. Saw CB turning blue after I meched Hellburner, so spawed Ao Jun to suppress reds contesting CB 3. CB stayed well-protected, so tried to push the red line back (using Ao Jun, Pursuer, and Spectre). 4. Once the game started to wind down, dropped Hover and mopped the field.

If blue gets center and I'm still alive, I come back out of the killbox and hide on the reverse slope of our ramp, This isn't about tooting my own horn, but it's a very effective way of emphasizing this. I don't remember who I saw say this. Might've been SOLVM, might've been somebody on this forum. They called it a killbox or a hitbox and said to get out of it, but stay nearby to defend it. This is the cornerstone of my play on Yam, and it has made me a ton more effective. I used to get in the box and stay in the box. Until I got shot dead 5s later, then I'd spawn and do it again. Then I started grabbing the center beacon, then going around the bottom or topside, trying to grab a different beacon or something. While that was better in terms of exposure, trying to grab a red home beacon is a hard thing in most Yam games, and would mech me out pretty quick. Now I grab the beacon and run a bit back down the slope toward blue side. Getting on the reverse slope protects you from almost everybody that is shooting at the box, and gives you an angle on almost all the approaches to CB. Even my little Gareth cuts chunks out of guys trying to get in the box, and if there's any other blue paying attention, they'll usually fall. I only bail on CB if reds are pushing really hard there. If they are pushing really hard, one of their home beacons is vulnerable, and I'll go get that, instead. So, don't stay in the box.

Agree completely, the crown jewel of Yam is nearly always CB and protecting it. But you have to be alive to protect it....

4 May 19, tactics:
1. Dropping Ao Jun first is ok on some maps, but I don't do so well here. B/c my Strider is out getting levelled, this is and Hover are my fastest bots to CB, but I'm stronger with Hover than Ao Jun, so Ao Jun gets in first. 2. Didn't get CB (D) on the first attempt, but saw my teammate charging so I went in to help him (or her?). 3. Dropped in Pursuer after Ao Jun meched, while this isn't a great Pursuer map, it can raise some nice hell if I can break red's line, and I do (beacon B). 4. If (B) manages to become blue, then most of the time all the reds panic and leave the CB alone until they get it back, as the case here. 4. If (B) is controlled (by blue), that's it, hard enough for one team to win Yam without D...but both B and D, not a chance unless the blues mech out.

4 May 19 (2nd at Yam), tactics:
1. With 2-squad (Blake - an 「bum-bum」 kicker and Thunder clan leader) 2. He is able to get to CB (D) quickly, reducing my need to immediately retreat to survive...a great feeling to have on this map. 3. After (D) is secured, I'm always thinking of a way to get to (B), by hook or crook, this is always what I'm trying to do next. I've gone for (C) too (near red's home), but that's tough to do on a map this size. 4. I did MAKE it to (B), but couldn't hang in there until it turned blue (red to white only). 5. Respawned in Hover to (D), with the aim of pushing down the covered bridge to (B). Never got (B), but make the reds pay in spades in the distraction (beacon bar and bots).

9 May 19, tactics:
1. Fly to CB with Ao Jun and pray 2. The ease of getting CB gives me a pretty good gage of how hard the reds are going to be, since the CB beacon (D) was taken with ease, I pushed harder than I otherwise would 3. Since the red never were not that interested in making a serious push for CB, I just had a little fun with them. Yam is beacon (D), obviously.

27 May 19, tactics:
1. Fastest bot to CB, which means a lot at Yam. 2. I'm spawning center to defend, but also while I'm playing bot two figure out a plan of attack for bot 3, keep going static: line vs line or can I push somewhere? Where? 3. Brought in Pursuer for bot 3, and tried to push right, while this was going on, reds took CB. The tactic blew up in my face. 4. Spawned left in Ares but was not very effective in doing much to the reds, but the 5th spawn in Hover allows some maneuvers unique to the bot and map, and while red's hold on CB was good, they lost too many bots along the way.

28 May 19, randoms vs 2-squad (EXO1), tactics:
1. Get to CB, pronto, try to survive the CB onslaught. Since I have tough reds (EXO1), this is iffy. 2. Spawned in my strongest bot #2 (Hover) to drive the red line back via the left side, which, since some were already playing passively, was not hard to do. 3. Once Hover meched, went back to CB to push the light on the right side, or whever an opportunity presented itself. 4. Good for the reds, they got our home-left (B) and center (D) back. Had to play safe to keep my Pursuer going and deal with the rush, using cover etc. 5. Meched the reds, but credit to them, they pulled off a great turnaround by capping (B) while the blues were sleeping (myself included).

19 Jun 19, 2-squad vs randoms, tactics (super fun match):
1. Dropped Ao Jun to try to cap CB, made it, meched and dropped another Ao Jun at center to push toward (B). 2. While my second Ao Jun didn't get (B), my Hover did, pretty much sealing the red's fate. The way I get there in Hover (done this a million times) usually involves using the covered bridge combined with Hover's ability to slip in to (B), as the case here. 3. Dropped Ares to defend (B) and push into/toward home (C)
The main tactic is pushing the line and not settling for artillery chucking, my partner is one of the top players in the game, so by making a ruckus, it frees him up to get his usual huge damage. Tampa getting 3 million these days isn't unusual...savage!
