Another nice vid. I noticed that you really use elevation to an advantage. Some of those moves I would've choked for sure (carrier side rail - splash for me ) Elevation on your target is a huge advantage in my book, as long as you have plenty of dashes the possibilities are endless. Just because I actually LANDED on the side rail doesn’t mean I was GOING for it ?. Note (tactical uncertainties)

Strider is great. My favorite bot since the first battle in War Robots. Got it right after Skirmish and put the Glory/2x Halo on it. Its wonderful. They even removed the dash bug in the latest version.

You haven’t lived until you cap the Castle map lower bridge beacon with a dash over the canyon to the lower level. Nail it for glory, miss it and fall to your death. I gotta create a YouTube account someday. SUCKERPUNCH kicked in while I was piloting a KUMIHO on castle....side door surprise on a FALCON...he died with a dumb look on his face...

Adrian has a video of him and I both failing this move simultaneously in a squad vs squad clutch game. We lost the bridge... and the game. I have not attempted it again in a match that matters. Once you do it 20 or 30 times, it’s a POC ? I did it once...in a KUMIHO...not that hard...looking forward to doing it in my STRIDER

***NEW STRIDER DASH MECHANIC ? ***
Since the update the Striders feet appear to hug the ground MUCH tighter during dash. Not sure if this is a fix, improvement, just an aesthetic thing? What say you?

Note (tactical uncertainties) yeah, when I saw you hit that dash all I could think was, "too bad striders don't swim", then BAM, he catches the rail! I jumped out of my seat with a Ric Flair worthy 'whooooo'.
My wife was like, "really?"
Side note: you're motivating me to level Exodus...I was kinda disappointed at performance but I have one at 7 and one at 6. 12 seems to be effective...(as if we didn't already know that)

Noticed that this morning too...same with Kumi, kind of 'compresses' more at the end of the dash as well. Double/multiple dash timing is a bit off now? It's harder to get that smooth single glide with multi dash... gonna play around this afternoon when the batteries re-charge...

I gotta create a YouTube account someday. Forget the Strider. I did that with a Haechi. Caught the enemy by surprised. He was probably wonder how the heck I got there. I did this with a Kumiho today. Just went a fraction to far. Lol.

well, BB is right. Looks like dashes got a silent nerf. Dash mechanism is a bit cocked up. Can't launch from terrain imperfections like the day before yesterday.

Today I found myself in my Strider on Castle during the midgame -- the bridge beacon was red and they were covering it from the safety of the boulders and ruins on their side, and I said to hell with it, I'm going to try it! I'm going to die the most glorious and embarrassing death! ... But I made it! And capped the beacon. And we won. Sweeeeeeet. I have now lived.

My 9 y.o. daughter thought the side door surprise was the absolute <dookie> and had me load up a custom map for her....
In 40 minutes she had done it with all my dash bots on both YAM and CASTLE....
Admittedly, nobody was shooting at her....but it was fun to listen to her giggle....

>bobby_digital< in my experience the dash mechanics have never been consistent one day to the next, even before the update. Ive had days where I can glide like a Jedi, then it’s a completely diff story the next day.

For the record- I def did NOT invent the side door surprise, saw some mysterious stranger do it long ago and decided to practice it from diff angles on diff maps until I was smooth with it.

Has anyone mastered the ‘soft edge’ glide? The hard edge ones are pretty easy, but e.g. the spawn hill on Power Plant map, I’ve done it a few times, but it seems like you have to nail the timing exactly. Same w gliding over rough terrain, It can be done, but I usually end up with the stutter stall.

I was completely taken by surprise a few days ago by a Haechi under the bridge. Brilliant, unexpected, first class move. Kudos to all players who do the trick and to those contributing to the game with things like that. It makes it more interesting and entertaining.

Hey, give yourself some credit! You came up with the name "side door surprise" and that makes it yours AFAIC... Now we gotta find a move we can call "The BB"
If history has shown us anything, advocates of an idea are just as important, if not more so, as the inventors. Henry Ford didn't invent the automobile but his contributions made cars ubiquitous.

Same w gliding over rough terrain, It can be done, but I usually end up with the stutter stall. I haven't mastered it, but the dash has to be initiated sooner than a hard edge superdash. For instance, with strider on powerplant's hill spawn, you have to hit the button almost a whole step before the wing tops line up with the expected superdash reference.. Same with ramps on moon. The terrain launch stuff, you kind of just get a feel for. Best maps to practice that, IMO, are the side tundra on yama and all over dreadnought. Some spots are hit or miss and some are consistent launches. I look for places where there are nicely defined terrain lines and experiment. The uncovered bridge side of yama is great for this. LIke I said, you start to get a feel for it once you do it enough. You can look at a bump...a pebble... in the terrain and be like "that's a launch".

When the DeathSquads are rampaging next time, i’ll just head over to custom and get in some practice. Keep dashin’

Lancelots could simply Stroll down the bridge while you attempt this feat. And that’s why the bridge and ramp is usually littered with robot corpses. Speed > Strolling, and way more fun.

Indeed, and with dashes to spare we cause Strider Neophytes, Pursuers, and Hellburners to go cross-eyed and even think there’s more than one enemy attacking them, when finally they turn around to behold a Strider Ninja. Praise be to SuckerPunch, our generous Strider A.I. !!
