How I learned to love the Cormorant

First, there is Ace Thunder's disastrous experience with the Cormorant.





I approached it differently.  I thought of more like BoT's Hover.  The special ability might be more of a disaster to the mech rather than a help.  In some ways, also like the Falcon, flying might make you vulnerable instead.

So I chose to play it mostly on the ground.  Flight is used to escape from a bad situation, or to help me move from one area to another with speed.  If I need to attack from above, I do it from a distance using Tormentors.  


Playing it like an ordinary mech, the Cormorant features tremendous firepower for a medium.  Two small points and two medium points, that for me is firepower that has the best analogy with the Griffin layout of War Robots.  I do this point to point comparison with War Robots to give me an idea where firepower stands.

M.A.O.  =  3 medium points
Cormorant = 2 medium points, 2 small points
Nelly = 4 small points
Ravager = 2 small points, 1 medium point

Playing it like a ground tank, it yielded surprising results.  3 kills, but eventually died.




Oh I forgot to mention.  As of this writing there is a new BoT update.  The Cormorant T3 is on the store for $19.  The cost for removing a part is removed.  Mechs now seem to have a faster walking speed.  The update is mostly speed optimization and bug annihilation.  


Nice, I took the same approach as you after watching the same video, lol. I recent changed its name to “spider killer” as it excels in wrecking nellies. I fly it bumping the ground and never take it up high except occasionally to do long range recon. I could decide between long range or more medium range weapons so I broke down and got another Cormorant. The second one I made long range, fire off all the long range rockets and then find cover, I upgraded armor as much as possible on the medium range version and discovered that thing will take quite a beating and still keep fighting. The Hammers will strip a tirp of its weapons at nearly there maximum range leaving and easy target for team mate. It’s by far my favorite bot to play in BoT.
