If you're a Flatt and Scruggs nut (who isn't), you might know the tune Limehouse Blues.
Here is the song covered by my band on 2 separate gigs. I've played it Bluegrass style also, but I was playing to the strengths and tastes of the band...there guys can play their instruments (not me, ha ha).
RIP Chet, love you bud!

Good call. Actually, Nick shared a guitarist (Congo Powers) with one of my favorites, The Cramps. Congo was one of the guitarists in their earlier days. Btw, Lux and Poison were husband/wife...and everyone I was playing punk with in Dallas (late 80s) was into them big time.
Here he is singing Hank with one of the all time greats, the immortal Johnny Cash.

The original "Boss" by The Rumblers. And its more famous spawn (if you're into 70s punk):
You wanna talk about the real junk?

never got into the Cramps ...
How about some New Model Army? Probably didn't make it across the pond
with that cheeky little chorus of Get the 「illegitimate child」s
"No Rest" was my favourite - soundtrack to me getting very drunk for the first time
saw these live ... they were nuts

Don't know the band, but the sound is earlymid 80s to my ears, CBGB-punk-new wavish.
Good stuff, enjoyed both tracks, thanks.

Nice! I grew up on Mr.Cash, mom was from Louisiana and his albums were in the background constantly. We seem to have similar taste in music,80s punk especially the Brit veritity is special to me .Those were good times.

spot on - early mid eighties ...
another I saw live was The Damned ... they were nuts too... I'm pretty sure it was Captain Sensible (ha!) who wrecked the drum kit and started chucking pieces of it out into the audience ... halcyon days
Eloise was prob their most 'commercial' record
this has been quite a trip down memory lane ...
oooh yeah and The Stranglers ... I think they were on stage ... the naked ladies were very distracting! Golden brown , Peaches, Strange little girl ...

My leather jacket in high school had a The Damned Patch, among others.
This is a classic album, and shaped my formative years (maybe that's my problem)....so here it is for all to enjoy!
Another proto-punk favorite of mine, Dr. Feelgood, also Brit

wow ... there's a leap ...from the Damned to EDM! I did the same thing via New Order ... Power, Corruption & Lies brilliant Album. Lucky enough to see Peter Hook play - still love the way he plays in the way "you can tell it's him" this is Hooky with the Smashing Pumpkins playing New Order!
If you want to talk EDM at the top of this heap there is only the Chemical Brothers ... check out "chemical brothers singles 93-03" ooooh and Underworld

When I was in working in SE Asia (Vietnam), the clubs would just plug the sound system into youtube and play song lists, requests, etc.. I'd call a few Lords of Acid (...show me your meow, for example) and the place would light up. The Chemical Brothers were big then too, around the same time Lords of Acid were nearly a household name.
Did you see the Blue Monday cover on the previous page? Crazy.
Are you old enough to remember when these guys were a thing?
....also, a great find more recent, and not lip synched, ARE WE NOT MEN?!?!??!
Yep, I'm a spud from way back...
