I’m mixed on the content of the ads. I think the episodes and yarn app are totally inappropriate for a kids game. I called Apple twice and reported War Robots for the ad contents.
However, I do like knocking off hours of build time.
My two cents.

I get different ads on my devices. One thinks I'm a young female, while the other thinks I'm a hardcore gamer.

You can reset your google advertising ID in settings and get generic ones. That's what these are, google ads service. I keep getting the Final Fantasy ones. Those are so cringy. The World of Tanks: Blitz ad is kind of hilarious though.

"You are wasting your life!"

The World of Tanks: Blitz ad is kind of hilarious though. I've never seen the WoT ones on either account. I get lots of FFXV ads, and enjoy the mini games that you can play. My personal goal is to get 100 on that tower defense game, and not lose any health. It looks like they spent more $$ on the advertising department than the game itself. Then you see a message saying this is all fake, you wish this looks this good. Some of the mini games are so terrible, I don't know what they are thinking. Makes me want to play it less, and never even install it in the first place. Thanks for warning me how bad it is. But I guess most of these ads are placed in inferior games that look like high school students made them, so it could work and entice some.

I keep getting merge farm, merge dragon and merge town.
Astronest seems to appear 99% of the time and it's boring as hell.
I'd rather see Final Fantasy, war Wings and WOT Blitz app because I'm asian.
I actually tried one of the advertised apps called "Applike", installed it, first thing it says "my device has suspicious activity" instant uninstall!!

I get the final fantasy ads and mini game play and the Star Wars ad. Also the war dragons and war of arks ads. Not often but occasionally I get the girls game ad where you supposedly you chose what choices are in game. Safe to say I'm bored of them completely.

However, on the part where "inappropriate ads" for a kids game? Technically War Robots on the App store says 12+, and there was no content, not even near implied content of drugs/nudity etc. So there's nothing we can do about it. Oh well.

I disagree, I have seen several ads on the yarn and episodes apps that are sexually suggestive and inappropriate for even 12 year olds. The episodes app ad states it has explicit content. Lots of sexual stories. Again, it’s a game kids play. Do we really need congress to get involved because loose moral developers want to dump their trashy apps in front of our kids? Ethically speaking, these ads people should police themselves so lawmakers don’t have to.

There are bigger and even more accessible platforms with such "ads" but nothing is done about it. The only way is that we be the ones to educate the young ones appropriately.

Yes, I agree in educating, however, education must be age appropriate. You shouldn’t have someone’s filthy mind behind selacious ads in games that are attractive to children, in a position to affect children. This forces a discussion about the material or a choice to disconnect from said game until child’s maturity level is ready to receive such content.

I have no problems with the philosophy of ads. Back when I got them, I just turned off the volume, started one and set down my iPad for a few minutes.

I almost always get the final fantasy minigame ad. The minigame ad was ok when I first saw it I believe 2 years ago. Now it's a generic ad that I mostly ignore now. Like the idea of watching ads to fill a task tho I still liked the idea of changing the tasks.

I wish I had ads... Amazon must have said no way to Pix which is weird because I have in-game ads like these in some tower defense game I play on my kindle.

The ad availability seems selective. I notice (for me in Aus) that they stop at around 8.30 pm and don't start again until the next morning. I saw another post (reddit) that said that they believe there is a limit on the number a day that you get and then they stop.
EDIT: Ads just came back on right on 7 am.

The ads are targeted, meaning you personally are getting those ads because of your own browsing history. If your kids, or anyone, have a similar browsing history as you, they will see those ads as well. I haven't seen a single ad for either of those apps since the feature was implemented. Every one of my ads has been for mobile games.

Why did my status drop from Boa to recruit? Dunno. The entire thing has changed. I was a Boa, but now I'm a Destrier.
