I currently use 1) Griffin - Molots (low-ish damage but out-ranges most other mid-rangers) 2) Griffin - RDB
How do these two stack up against other Ag/WSP/Au mid-rangers? (Ignoring component bots) e.g. Zeus Carnage, Spydra
I personally prefer mobile bots but am not absolutely "wedded" to it -->if you were leveling just TWO with the future in mind which two would you focus on?
Thanks Grondak

I decided to go punishers because they are effective at 450m and close quarters. So depending on the reds, you can close in to get advantages

I's say Molots. You can out-range Spydras, Zeus, Tridents, RDBs, and Shocktrains. If you close in to 400-500m, you can do maximum damage from that far away vs Punishers that only do part damage.

Doc is very good at midrange, very mobile and armed to the teeth.

Depends what League you are in, for none components bot/weapons mid range, best in iOS Champions League is Zeus Fury, I don’t have one, so I hate them so much. Just my opinion though.

Thanks Grondak Answering to your last question, I leveled a Zeus Carnage and a Trident Fury. But you can skip the latter (the Zeus variant is honestly superior), the RDB Griffin can fulfill his role. If you can spend 3000 au on 2x Zeus, the Carnage is a mobile platform that works very well both with and against the RDB Griffin. And for "with" I mean that complements well with the RDB in you hangar and with blue RDBs in the battlefield, in my experience.

I got my first component weapon, a Tempest, and put it (lvl9) on a Leo (leveling to 9 now) with two Molots (lvl10) and a Gekko (lvl9). it’s so refreshing to be on the shooting side on Canyon and Yamantau. I can hear the sound of my target grinding his/her teeth. especially useful to fend off those Zeus Furies.
I like Leo batter than Nat or Fury, for its slightly faster speed and better HP. I wonder what I should do once I got more Tempests. Carnage or Raijin? eventually I guess I need to get a Fury one day,

I wonder what I should do once I got more Tempests. Carnage or Raijin? eventually I guess I need to get a Fury one day, I've been using my Zeus Fury for a couple of weeks now. Not in every game of course cause it's in my second hangar. I usually spawn in it as the third bot. By then, there are usually some half life reds running around, and some Carnages and Fujins. I prioritize those two over other bots because I know I can take them out with little or no risk, and if left alone, they can wreak havok amongst the blues. I try to avoid Ancilots because my Zeuses are only level 8, but if I see another bot targetting the Ancilot, I'll add my fire to it. I really, really like the Zeus Fury. I like it even better than the Zeus/Gekko Nat. Zeus Gekko Nat tends to get over exposed when I try to wring the last little bit of damage from the Gekkos. With a Zeus Fury, there isn't that temptation, so it's just zap, hide, zap hide.

Best “mobile” mid-ranger is a Zeus Carnage, hands down. I used to love my RDB but eventually I got sick of it. I prefer Zeus’ and/or kinetics (Tempest/Molots) now. Occasionally for fun, I run a Zeus/Scourge/Gekko Golem but I mostly run a Tempest/Molot Leo and/or Zeus Fury. I would run a Zeus Carnage but I only have one Carnage and I prefer it with Thunders. I will be getting another from the event though.
Zeus is really the way to go IMO. Especially If you are facing dash bots.

I just built my mid-rangers like yours (RDB and Molot) After seeing a ton of Ancile on the field I hate to say the RDB is losing its shine. Molots aren't a shieldbreaker like the punishers but I love the range advantage it has. Instead of hobbling to 500m just to hit ancile, I can fire from 600m+ and see red bar chip away

I've been using a Raijin with dual tempests for a while now, and it is a solid midranger. The combination of: 500 to 700M; solid damage (especially while in Bastion mode); and physical shield make it very useful against both snipers and plasma. Against snipers, the Bastion shield and solid damage provide a nice counter. The Tempest Raijin can even go toe-to-toe with an Ancilot at close range.
That said, there are plenty of downsides to this build. The Raijin is slow and difficult to maneuver. Rockets, of course, wreck it. And it can be painful to just sit there eating damage while waiting for your Tempests to reload.
If you have access to 3 tempests, I would imagine the Tempest Fury would be a better choice, trading survivability for greater and more consistent firepower (At level 12 Mk 1, Bastion Raijin DPS is about 26k versus 30k from a Fury) and better mobility.

The nice thing about zeus carnage is that you can trade it up for a zeus fury later on without too much waste. The carnage is a pretty cheap bot to level up, silverwise.
I am in the process of upgrading my third zeus and a fury now, and while the fury lacks the rush ability (I keep reaching for it anyway) and the ancile, this bot packs a punch. I thought at one point I could use a zeus raijin as a poor man's fury, but having to go in and out of bastion all the time to try to get more damage and then reposition was a royal pain.
Play the zeus carnage now and then get the fury version (6500 more Au) if the meta hasn't shifted later.

I recently got a 3rd Zeus for my Fury and the first couple days it was great fun. Then I put it away to level and bringing it back out it appears to put a big target on my back. As soon as I fire it seems every sniper begins angling for me and every brawler starts hopping covers to get near. In an RDB or Spydra at least I can get some alone time.
