My coverage of the Test-Server andthe article you are railing against is INFORMATION, yes. I have, and continually address each of your points. Your arguement against the UI does not represent EVERYONES views. Not even in this thread. Despite everyones views, the UI is coming anyway. Your point has no traction. While citing your article: Nice, thank you for your contribution. Keep up the good work. Got nothing to add.

So that goes well with: "MECH*SPECTRUM is the premiere news and information outlet for any game or project within the Mech genre." in your world? Then "NEWS" = "OPINIONS" now? I actually brought the facts in the comment sections, you ignored or misread ALL of them and keep on stating that it's just "your opinion". You stated your position, I just wanted for all good people in the forum to know that you are taking "premiere news outlet" like another place to state your opinion. This seems a touch below your usual standard, Russel . I'm not familiar with the issue you and ᴛʜᴇ ʙɪɢ ᴅʀᴏᴘ have, and right now frankly I'd rather drink beer and watch soccer than go find out. But to call out an op-ed piece for not being "news" is a bit thin, considering opinion pieces are part and parcel of the news trade. MECH*SPECTRUM is the successor to Gepard Diary, and no-one ever accused me of falling short of some journalistic standard on that site. With the new site, news is indeed an explicit part of the content, but we make sure to separate it from everything else in three ways. First, every article has very clear tags. Things like War Robots Data and Analytics, or Tabletop Games give people a sense of what they're reading, and they can click on these to read more. News articles have a tag, which unsurprisingly is "News." Second, all News articles have a section on the site all their own. Yes, they're featured up top if they're new, but they're also all in the News section. Third, just to be even more explicit, every news article is prefaced with "NEWS:" For instance, * NEWS: War Robots Test Server Weekend Details 7/29-7/30 * NEWS: Pixonic Launches the Iron Library So if it's not marked NEWS in all three of those ways, it's a blog piece. ᴛʜᴇ ʙɪɢ ᴅʀᴏᴘ may hold an entirely indefensible position (or he may not), but that should be refuted on its face rather than calling it out for "not being news." I'll leave you fellas at it, just wanted to be clear about that one thing. Definitely welcome feedback about how we can make things clearer or more intuitive. As for me, back to the soccer and beer. :D That's not a "touch", it's a direct quote. Don't see "blog" or "forum" reference here: The actual "conflict" reason was pretty far-fetched phrase, which calls out to the community of players. Being a part of the community, I got the information to fellow friends on different resources and the best I heard about the new UI was "idgaf". With much more explicit statements. Some of the guys asked me where did I get those quote, I posted a link. Guys got there and started posting comments. I think that good journalist would at least _mention_ that new ui is not liked by all the community, or it being controversial. Author didn't do it, and started defending the new UI. Then accused me of lying, creating fake account and, eventually, said that my opinion doesn't matter. Fun fact: I never noticed prior to today that new UI color scheme is a direct ripoff from the BoT. Now I wonder how and if all those facts are connected. I think everybody made up their minds about this topic, and got nothing to add more here; so I remove myself and my tinfoil hat from the topic.

Not trying to stir the pot here (okay maybe a little), but this poll isn't even about whether or not people like the new UI. It's about whether or not people feel like there should be an option to toggle back and forth, so players can choose their preference. Someone could very well love the new UI, but vote yes here because they believe each person should get to choose. And if Pixonic just implements the option to toggle them, then this whole argument will be for naught. Details details...

Russel , just to clarify one point, we're not "journalists." We're passionate hobbyists, just like you and everyone else here. We write blog pieces about the things we love. Our opinions are our own, they're not meant to be representative of every player. I've never found a hobby blog that was expected to serve as a sort of representative opinion rather than an individual insight and observation as a default mode. I did go back and see some of the comments on the site, and my jaw hit the floor when the very first post appeared to be you saying that the new UI was "as good as a massacre in a kindergarten," an extraordinarily tasteless thing to say and something wildly divergent from my impression of you here. Now I know you and everyone else are completely unaware that that incident happened a half hour away from where I lived in my home state, but really? That's our analogy of first option for a video game? I'm sorry you got into it with ᴛʜᴇ ʙɪɢ ᴅʀᴏᴘ, if I had to guess I'd simply say that you both let things get away from you and didn't present your best selves. I appreciate your willingness to put this thing to rest.

I am pretty disappointed this feature wasn't included in 3.0. I don't mind the new HUD that much, but I really don't like where they located the information regarding which players kills another. Because I am a nerd I like to look at my robots, and it blocks the view of them.
Furthermore it is opposite of how every other game does it. It is always up the top right corner, it should be there.

So what you're saying is...M*S has explicit content? Now that's the kind of robot site I like. ?

The new HUD is overcrowded with stuff making it difficult to spot enemies at long distances, plus i don't know why but it makes my eyes sore...
