People just havent discovered how good it is ;-) I really like mine on my Spydra Griffin. This, and Spider\Trident Natasha are the only use I can think of for Spirals :-)

I really like mine on my Spydra Griffin. This, and Spider\Trident Natasha are the only use I can think of for Spirals :-) They really don't do quite enough damage. They're generally more of an annoyance than anything else. I guess the big benefit is the ability to reach out and touch someone who thinks they're hidden. Even if they didn't outright buff the damage, it'd be nice if they increased the AOE a little more.

I thought i can do that too. So put spirals on me griff. A week or two later i discovered that they wernt spirals on the stukas :-)

My point on the silver is that I am making more simply playing the game per day vs what we won from chests for 1100 credits. I am onto the 4.5 mil 8-9 upgrades now. Hurts but not as bad as some games out there

Hurts but not as bad as some games out there Chest - definitely. But I meant tasks - you are getting Silver for play PLUS you are getting Silver for task rewards (the grey numbers in the prizes picture) UPD: it is 8,700,000 in tasks Silver. And God knows how much for the task battles.

BEside lots of fun bc the event changes standard player behaviour in terms of approach, this is also a good time to fatten up on silver and gold. Thus far i managed to accumilate 18M silver (unfortunately i wasnt tracking the upgrades but spent over 5M or there abouts) and gold had a massive jump. But ofcourse lots of play involved. And i am not even the most active person in the clan. Some of the guys are like 300-400 cups ahead of me. But still early in the day and a days worth of play is ahead :-) on the treb now :-) 1/5
Where are the others on the quest up to - just out of curiosity. 3 or 4 of the guys in the clan are already taunting about the natasha. Sort of a quest for bragging rights too.

I think the developers should have made the event longer so we get more time to complete the quests. I probably won't even get up to the 3rd reward lol. XD

Like: 3x friendly bot mech out while your bot is in contact with it. 3x perform kills airborne. Touch an enemy bot for 3/5/10s Run one complete lap no further in than 50m of the edge of the map.

They dont want many people to complete the quest. They want u to buy the stuff :-) its only worth it if u see a challange in completing it. this quest seems to be tougher than the last one.

Well that's the problem, with exception of trebs I have have enough of everything I use. The bots themselves aren't nearly as enticing as last event (love the tiger Carnage but have one already). But worst of all the challenges appear to be exactly the same as last time, which eliminates the challenge factor for me. Jokes aside (like touching other bots) we know from daily tasks especially the 40 gold variety that the games task system can allow for squadding, not leaving, or finishing at certain positions. That said here's a good one Play 500 games without leaving with >125K and >0 beacons per match. For a lance. Bet there'd be many who can't manage that.

Hats off Russel. Thats tremendous progress. I am still on 4/5 of trident. The kills took lomger than expected. Beacons shold be easy. i am trying to collect as much ag and au on the way from normal play and as such not over specialising on tasks just yet. Dont wanna just run at the first two beacons as an example and leave the game. I think the best way to do this quest is leaning towards normal play as much as possible so that au, ag, and tasks are maximised while ensuring the tasks are done with a day or so to go.

Well, I am "eating own dog's food" here, so to say. So in thread war-robots-forum.freeforums.net/thread/11177/scouts-guide-event I listed almost every trick I use; at least everything useful for all the people. Additional thing I am doing during the event grind is experimenting with hangars\gameplay a lot. I mean - with Kill tasks I am all-kamikaze, and mech out usually in 4~5 minutes. Often using high-damage low-hp builds (think Orkan Doc or Thunder Carnage); With beacon tasks I am trying to pull the craziest tricks around enemies - you can often find me behind enemies, or even capturing their home beacons. Same way with WIN tasks, I find them boring, so I spice it up with new weapon systems I like to test out for a long time (now I'm testing out Hydra Doc); while underleveled, I can't do enough damage, but I can learn the physics of the weapon\bot.

How ya find it? I didn't like it as the reload doesn't match the cool down. Might be a pride thing as I don't hold much regard for hydras but if I use them I think Fuj and griffs are the way to go. I can't make up my mind yet, it's a tricky weapon. Sometimes it could hit a mosquito in the air, and another shoot I am hitting the wall that is even not near the target. They say you need to learn to shoot it, and I couldn't agree more. Though it's hard to say if I'm hitting the target - it's only lvl4, so not doing any real damage, and it's hard to see HP bar move. But all in all, I managed to score some kills, and forced couple of healthy snipers to eject from their bots. I'm kind of on the edge here - to see if it's good - I need to upgrade it; and with every Hydra is taking 6 hours to get even to lvl5, and a LOT of other stuff to upgrade - I want to know if it's any good to spend so much time upgrading it. When I make up my mind I will definitely write a post about Hydra usage =) What I think currently - is that you need to shoot: 1) Stalkers; because you can keep track of "who's the stalker", and hit him hard and far away every time he uncloacks (it's virtually impossible for any other bot to catch him) 2) Wounded bots (obviously) 3) Snipers - you need to be firing ONE hydra at a time, but ALL THE TIME, so he could not see and aim clearly. 4) You need to be able to deliver LOTS of damage FAST. That's where the quickdraw shines. You are firing 1 missile at time, emptying one weapon, and then another, so one is shooting, another is on reload. But if situation arise when there's a wounded bot in range, or Stalker come undone - you switch to loaded set and unleash 2 hydras at instant. Those are my _CURRENT_ tips, they may change once I will get better at using Hydra, definitely.

This is just speculation, but does anyone else suspect that the MM is matching you on teams with people on the same type of task as you? Whenever I'm on the kill task, it seems like I more consistently get teammates that are ignoring beacons, and waiting until enemies are wounded before they fire a shot. When I was on beacon, it seemed like I had more light bot teammates than normal. Anyone else experiencing this or am I just getting strange luck?

It is damn hard to kill an enemy bot, when whole team is on "kill" task, and whole your team is on the "capture" :-D And not for the reason that I am not capable of killing; Imagine: DeadCity. Whole our team is running like runaway pet shop inhabitants. Enemy team is on the "kill task", obviously, running amok and picking up kills. I sneak in my DB and pick out enemies one by one. Got 8 heads. Then I got killed, jumped into a Rog... AND WE WON. Enemy team was not paying attention at the beacons at all, and I got 8 kills in 4 minutes.. I was expecting to score at least another 8 kills (with Orkan Rog, Tarancilot, Thunder Carnage at my disposal), but 「fluffernutter」. Sometimes I wish I could paint beacons red...

But there are times that my beacon guy is spawned with 5 stalkers. I suppose it's a statistical fluctuation. However there is one other thing I noticed. I think as long as u have continuously reloading weapons on ur bots even if the other blue puts down more continuous/heavy fire on the same red the kill is shared. Eg I am firing with reloading orkans while the other blue has a much higher rate of fire (targeting the same red) the kill is shared. Similarly as to sharing beacons. I was cautious of using orks for kills but as long as I keep firing and hitting the red the kill is shared. This is based on the observation of how many kills I get. Next I will pay more attention of how many kills the entire blue team gets as if this holds true the kill number should be higher at times than the total number of red bots. This principle does not apply when slow reloading weapons like tarans are used. Alternative is that I am very lucky

the only real way get the free tempest playing 8 hour straight taking turn with friends on 24/7 shift. False. In fact I don't wanna play with my friends/clan as squad battles are tougher. I play solo with no friends. I'm on the Carnage already and have over 1100 chest points and haven't bought any. I've been playing probably 5-8 hours a day with a cell phone that I have to stop playing sometimes as the battery is old and doesn't last that long. My left thumb is calloused just like the birthday event a few months ago. I'll get the two Tempest for the tasks and probably have 2500 coins to buy another. Not bad considering I did that in 4 days and I have what like 16 days left to do 4 tasks and get a 1500 coins. No problem unless a family emergency comes up. I don't spend real money on this game. I just work my butt off when they give free stuff. Works for how I want to play.

I only said switching turns with a real life friend and after play enough xyz amount of hours you switch with a friend , i never said anything about playing with squad/clan. If you can grind that much hours you have to much time in your hands. For one hour I spent I barely can make to 50 tokens.
